Default Oil pressure suddenly very low?

Motor has 1600 miles on it. Oil has 1000 miles on it. Pump is stock 2000 year ported and shimmed.

-Car used to start up cold with 70psi- now only 40psi.
-Warm idle was 45+, now only 27
-Cruise was 50+, now only 20.
-WOT was 65+, will NOT raise with acceleration. I did not go past 4000 prm in third gear as it wasn't moving.

I also noticed the gauge flickering very fast at idle between 18-20psi; not moving back and forth but vibrating. I'm hoping its just the sending unit. Any chance it could be the oil pump o-ring messed itself up after 1600 miles of driving? Could it be a spun bearing even though motor is very smooth and no sounds? I'm tired of this ****. Not worth it. Turbo cars are a money pit. Get out while you can!

1. main bearings took a hike already
2. pump/o-ring/relief valve going bad
3. bad guage/sending unit

put a manual guage on it and check first, thats were i would start.

Well, I finally got around to working on the car today. I changed the oil to look for chunks of metal and there was very very little. Nothing out of the ordinary. After I changed the oil, I took the oil feed off of the turbo and put a mechanical pressure gauge on the end of it to both cap it and also make sure that the gauge wasn't bad. The gauge ran about 12-15psi lower but acted the same way as the dash gauge. 35psi when the dash read 50. 20psi when the dash read 35. As it got lower it started bouncing around really bad. 16-21psi when the dash read 30.

So, its not the gauge, its not the oil sending unit, and its not the turbo. I guess it has to be the pump or the motor is trashed.

When I pull the pump out, what should I look for?
