Default Timing Chain-should I replace

Doing a cam swap and thought it would be a good idea to replace timing chain and oil pump while I am in there. I bought a new Rollmaster double roller from a fellow forum member. It seems like it is going to be a real pain to install. I am not even sure if it is "dot to dot" or both at 12 o'clock. Anyways, probably going with factory chain. Should I replace it, or just use the one I took out?

Thanks,

Not to sound stupid but the cam dot will be at 6 o'clock and the crank dot at noon?

Yes, it usually takes a few tries to get it right too. Make sure you have at least one other person check it too. It helps to have a second pair of eyes check it out to verify it is straight.

probably means oil pump, unless youre swapping your cam by dropping the gas tank...

LS2 chain is cheap and sturdy. Melling or LS4 oil pump have a lot of happy customers.

there was discussion that the LS4 pump could suck a oil pan on an LS1 dry...

Could or has? Any oil pump could suck a pan dry if youre running too low on oil, or dont have proper drainback. Bit Ill look for that thread and take that under advisement.
