Corvettes are IRS and use a backbone torque tunnel design with the tranny's in the rear. This results in more drivetrain loss than the f-body's.

This is also why the Z06 made about the same power with a better tune than the first G5X-2 package we did on Louis's 1998 Z28. If properly tuned I believe the f-body had more power in it as it's AFR was still on the rick side. Unfortunately it's PCM was locked by another vendor and we could not tune it at that time before it is reflashed back to stock.

GTP heads / TR230 cam
5.3 heads milled .015
12 bolt with 4.10s
12.9 AFR / 29* timing
93 octane and always add some 104 just to be on the safe side

Dyno: 443rwhp through the dual exhasut and 445rwhp with open headers. NO spikes, no flycuts, and no LS6 heads.

Track: 122mph, full weight, 17s all around with Nitto DRs, air filter in, power steering hooked up. 11.67 is my best et with a 1.7 60' one leggin it.

ET is not all that important to me like it is for the real drag racers on here. I would rather have the MPH ( HP ).

Dyno results for a stock 2002 Z06.

358 and 359 @ 1100 miles .95 C/F
356 and 357 @ 4000 miles .96 C/F
372 and 372 @ 6600 miles .96 C/F (the 15HP jump was from removing the stock airbox cover).

Here is the graph.

In light of the shop vs shop stuff going on in this forum, I am going to state my point, and make sure you understood.

The folks posting in this thread, well they illustrate that bigger numbers are possible. Look at the numbers in this thread generated with LS1 heads. Now add LS6 heads. Some of the combos in this thread are two years old or more.

Point is, the LG and the Cartek numbers are certainly possible, we have to sometimes look for constructive ways to validate a number rather than quickly dismiss the possibility of the numbers being attainable on a consistent basis.

Happy motoring!!!

Also if they want to keep their specs secret and charge $5995.00 for the package I don't think very many F-body folks will pony up for the money... Corvette people will due to the press Lou gets in the road course venue.

If these secret spec installed packages do not carry some kind of garrentee in writing, as the old saying goes, you're buying a pig in a poke. Buyer beware!!!
