Default dyno #s for C1 cam and stock heads

Well I took advantage of the MTI cam special and picked my car up today and they dynoed it while I was there. I will list my mods and dyno numbers in order:

High flow air box, K&N, ported MAF, 3" cutout:
315.2 hp /328.4 trq

SLP long tubes, Random Tech cats, 3" y-pipe:
330.3 hp /339.7 trq

C1 cam, Manley springs, retainers, chromoly pushrods, computer reprogram:
350.0 hp /352.6 trq

I know I am leaving alot of horsepower on the table because I have a LT1 intake, no underdrive pulleys, stock thermostat, cats, stock heads, etc. Anyway, I love the C1 cam and think my numbers are good for what I have. Any thoughts or advice? And thanks to John Cambell for his advice thus far and to the guys at MTI for being helpful and courteous.....feel the love man!
I'm so damn pumped about my new cam, my cheek muscles are starting to hurt because I can't quit smiling. I even called my son long disatnce to let him hear my cam over the phone!

Congrats on the new cam. I know exactly how you feel...and I mean exactly. It's a whole different animal now isn't it? Those boys at MTI definitely know their LS1s. Ol John's no slouch himself.
Good luck modding.

Thanks, yes the car is definately not the same, I might have to go out to the garage and sleep in it.
Oh and thanks to Tony Whatley as well for letting me bend your ear and for the advice.
There are some really good people here to learn from, thanks to all. Any ideas how I can get to 400rwhp with stock heads?

Actually you are closer than you think. Several people here have accomplished that goal with the C1. I would suggest to optimize your exhaust, good intake manifold and the ASP under drive pulley. The good air that's on the way will also help. I wish I could say that I have done it, but I have never dyno'd my car. You need to get that thing out to the track and see what kind of ETs it will turn. I have to agree that Tony and John are excellent people to lean on to get the results you are looking for. They have done me quite well also. Good luck!!

LT1 intake If you have a LS1, you probably have a LS1 intake..... haha anyway put a LS6 intake, pulley, thermostat, ported throttle body on there. what kinda catback you have? get something the flows good. I would say you could hit 380ish rwhp or so, you must have some crappy casted stock heads, or you are running a stock catback maybe? my friend with all the bolt-ons and a TR224 cam dynoed 392 rwhp for a reference, stock tuning too.

An LS6 intake should definately help and an underdrive pulley & ported throttle body too. You have headers and a cutout, looks like opening up the intake side should help a good bit.

MTI installed a T1 cam(ever so slightly smaller than your C1) in my 02 car. With stock heads, stock pulleys, stock exhaust manifolds, Lid, Corsa exhaust(no cutout) and programming, my A4 put out 352 hp and 344 torque.

They do sound sweet with that cam thumping though don't they?

350 rwhp thru cats without all the bolt-ons is pretty good! I'm glad you got the lope sound you were looking for, now the car can truly earn it's "SS" heritage

Yes , I made a typo on the LT1 intake!

Thanks Tony, it is kind of weird after having the car almost 4 years, because now when I start it I think; "wow, is this my car?"
I'm glad I kept the mileage low (14,200) so I still have fresh cam bearings, etc.

I know my numbers aren't stellar, but they are average for what I have done and I chose the C1 cam for its reliability and not so much for power, although I know poeple have made some really good power with this cam.

Your numbers look really good for the mods, you would probably get some real significant improvements from removing the cats, ls6 intake, ported tb, and pulleys...

For reference I have the same cam plus TEA Stage 2 heads, stock ls1 intake, sock maf, stock tb, and no pulleys, and I'm pulling 373 rwhp 373 rwtq..So those mods really leave alot of hp on the table..

I have this same cam with local ported heads and ls6 int. added before dino but no times at track since putting on the ls6 int. stock crank pully and a mild port job on my tb done by myself to remove the lip . running through Mac headers and oryp and Edelbrock cat back made 371 hp and 371 tq. I opened the cut out and gained 18 hp to a total of 389 hp and 382 tq. I love the way this cam lopes , not to much as to scare off a race but enough to kick some *** to the unsuspecting

also , you gotto love the power band of this cam. the tq peaked at 4000 rpms ,it held above 380ft.lbs from 3800 to 5100 rpms and the hp peaked at 6000rpm's but held above 380 from 5500 to 6700 rpm's and was over 300 lbs tq from 2300 rpms on up.

Deano', once you get all the other bolt ons and free mods.... you'll find the 30 or so more HP that you have left on the table.

The good news is the expensive stuff is over (sans heads) and the small stuff is easy to install and comparitively easy on the wallet.

Thermo', !cats, pulley, LS6 INTAKE will really wake up that car.

Have you auto tapped it yet? Send the file to me and i'll do what i can to point you in the right direction.

CONGRATS on the cammage. Sweet aint it?

Thanks John, glad your back with us.
I dont have auto tap, but have a friend who does, or perhaps if you have time I could come over your place and we could do it? I would like to see what my motor is doing timing wise and air/fuel wise and to make sure I'm not getting any knock retard although if it would have pulled out timing it would have shown up on the dyno graph. I scanned a copy if you would like to see it.
I am going on vacation tomorrow to see my son in Puerto Rico (he is stationed there in the navy), but I will be back next week. No rush though, because It's just going to be sitting for the next week.
I guess it's time to get the rest of my bolt ons!
And thanks to all who replied, I just love this site.
