Nope. It had 8k miles on it like that, I had it apart to change some bad valve stem seals (which is why there's all kinds of crap on my pistons it was burning oil) and I ****ed up reinstalling my rockers. I've been working on cars for the majority of my life, and I've done several head and cam swaps on LS1's, so it's safe to say I've taken the valvetrain apart many times. It was late, and I was in a hurry. I was rushing because I was excited to drive the car which I really hadn't driven since last august due to my wild west adventures and then winter. Now I wont be able to drive it for another 2 or 3 weeks at best.

last time i checked the rocker studs go down into the intake runner... not into the combustion chamber.

Ouch, that sucks man. Good luck and keep your head up.

Good explanation, but I don't think for all the pistons that have damage in the same place, hoiwever, after rereading everything, you might be right if the valves are broken off.
Is the one picture of "half a piston"? That is, did you break off a piston also?
