Poll: Pick one of these cams to meet my goals, I need your input!
Thank you for any assistance.
I have a M6 '02 Z28. I would like to meet these goals at mostly full weight. !jack/spare, !AIR. Hopefully on 275/40/17 MT DRs and not needing slicks and skinnies.
My goals are mid 11's at hopefully 121-122. 430-440rwhp. Shift light set at 6400-6500, limiter set at 6600-6700.
3.42 gear now will become 3.73.
My plans are AFR 205's at 62cc, cometic .040, QTP hvmc, speed inc true duals, SLP pulley, ported stock TB, stock LS6 intake, TSP Lid. Supporting mods.
I want a 113 lsa, I could allow +1 of advance at most, I'm really set on that.
I want a 90% street cam that can Idle perfect at 800-825. Wont reek horribly of gas with an ORX (minimal overlap). I know there will likely be some smell anyway. I want something that doesnt scare away races at idle, I know it will be obviously not stock. There are some fourth gens out there that idle so NASTY that it makes ricers fill their skateboarding shoes with urine, that urine being comprised mostly of NOS energy drink of course. That type of idle is not what I'm looking for.
Thank you again for any help.

I'd like to see you try that reverse split. If you are worried about the bad smell why don't you just put in cats and advance the cam more. It will also muffle the exhaust more and get rid of some of the "rasp" so I'm voting for the reverse split on a 112+4

You could hit your goals with a tr224 or a g5x3 or have a custom cam ground. The 224 would be a max effort setup and a turquey ****, the g5x3 wouldnt have to be as much an effort but you lose some low end grunt.
Either way with dr's and no power add in a full weight car your going to need 389's at least I think.
I'd go for the mamo cam to keep it street friendly

It wouldnt kill me to have to run slicks and skinnies later at the track to more closely achieve my ET goal. It would still be great on the street with my 17's.
I fear the mamo cam may leave me yearning for more up top after I become accustomed to the power. I've seen alot of people say this. I know it's not true for everyone though.

In my 98 SS i had full bolt ons and went with the TSP 228R cam and was very pleased with it. With those nice AFR heads you should be able to reach you goals no problem. However with my new car 2002 SS i already have full bolt ons and am going for very similar goal as you. this time around i am going to go for the 228/232 cam for a little extra power over the 228R.

Well with the limitations you have imposed I voted the Torq V2... however this would not be my first choice. You appear to be after about the same thing I am except I am not worried about a slightly scary idle or a slight gas smell at idle. If I was I would still go with the cam I chose and then add some high flow cats. With the cam I ordered(and FED EX lost) I was trying to maximize my DCR with the stock S/B, work with a set of budget heads w/o having to flycut (I went with the TSP stage 2.5 5.3's milled to 63 cc's), and work well with the LS6 intake and a pretty decent exhaust. The cam I came up with was a custom Comp LSK/XER 227/234 .641/.598 110 +2. I do not know how to figure the numbers exactly, but since this cam has 5 deg less int duration at .050 than the Torq V2 it may be real close on the overlap at .050 even with the narrower lobe seperation. Just out of curiosity, have you read the torque out of my ears thread by Patrick G (it should be a sticky in my opinion), if not you may want to check it out. Good luck with whatever you decide to go with and let us know the results once you have some.

A slightly scary idle is more than fine. I want to avoid the super nasty idles. It should sound tough and I'm sure it will, but not something that idles like a drag car. I would like the performance to surpass most of first impressions that the idle generates. I can tolerate a slight smell, but if it's always noticeable or excessive I will be unhappy.
I have read Patrick G's torque thread, definitely sticky worthy. I just want to avoid LSK lobes for spring longevity and little more peace of mind. Sorry I didnt include that in my original post.
All of your help is greatly appreciated, I have kind of advanced basic knowledge, but lack advanced knowledge.
