Auto-rx?

Patman, can you tell me what that is?

BTW, do you still think it is a good idea to mix Mobil 1 10-30 with a couple of quarts of heavier oil on a car that is a 385 rwhp daily driver, but sees occasional trips to the 1320?

Just wish they would just make 10-40 <img border="0" alt="[whiner]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cry.gif" />

Although my 98 TA does not burn oil, I think I will not be using the Mobil 1 05/30 that I have been using in the past. I just feel it does not offer alot of bearing protection during those +6,200 rev 1/4 mile blasts.

Whats your opinion ol' bud?
Thanks,
Ron Larson

Auto-rx is a not solvent based cleaner which slowly liquifies sludge and varnish in the engine and safely carries it to the oil filter. It cleans slowly over a 500 mile period and does not harm the engine or change the oil's chemistry (it won't thin out the oil and is totally safe to run under load, something solvent flushes can't do)

Here is their site www.auto-rx.com

As far as mixing viscosities, it's totally safe to do within the same brand. Such as mixing 2 qts of 15w50 M1 with 4 qts of 10w30. But Mobil 1 also has a 0w40 oil which is extremely good. Unlike their 5w30 and 0w30, this 0w40 does not thin out, it's very shear stable. It passes more stringent European standards, and is the recommended viscosity in many European cars such as Mercedes.
