Default What does stock heads flow at, I might port them.....

with .525 lift and .550 lift?

I am thinking about porting my stock heads and want to find some numbers on flow.

Will porting stock heads give me at least 10-15 hp increase over stock when using a cam?

I'm trying to hit 400 RWHP with out buying $2000 heads.

I am going to buy the TR224 114lsa cam in a few weeks.

Is there a place I can send heads to get flow tested and with a print out of before and after?

Who and how much does this service cost?

Also, are there any companies out there that would just port my heads for me? If so, who?

Hope to get a few replies...

Bill

Bill....you should call me. I can make you a good deal on my heads this winter. I will likely build some new heads for my car. I can use your cores if you want my heads.

Mine are ported and polished (never flowed). Stainless Manley valves with 918 springs. Don't get me wrong here. They will never compare with $2000 heads, but will make 390-400 rwhp with the right cam in your 6-speed car.

Best of all, I can do the work for you <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

On my superflow bench the stock head flow stalls at about .450" lift at a consistent 220-225 cfm. They flow very well from .100" to .350" due to an excellent valve job, but the port area and short turn radius will not support higher flow above about .450" lift, swirl increases but flow does not. Minor porting will add 30-40 cfm with little increase in port volume.

I'm also guessing that the work he is referring to is the head swap. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
