Default TR 230/224 cam and drivability?

I keep hearing about the great power output, but what about the all around drivability? How is this cam at cruising?Does it surge?Throttle response down low?

I have this cam, but I also still have my stock gear. Taking off sucks. Everything else is great about it though. With LS1edit, I tuned it so there is no cam surge at all.

Daily driving with 4.10s is fine, your 3.73s should be good too. No bog, not much surge either. Of course I had a hotcam with 3.42s, so this feels a lot better!

As long as you don't have an aluminum flywheel like me you are fine. I have one and get lots of surge and an occasional stall.

Mine has been very smooth thanks to LS1 Edit tuning by Thunder Racing and a good converter by Yank. No surging. I go into OD at 30 mph. (3.73 gears, A4)

Don you do have aluminum flywheel right? Oh well anything can be worked out, more compression would give better idle and low speed response.

I have a steel flywheel Talked to Thunder today about this and they said it has a studder around 1500 rpms. That's not bad,and as you said Jeff I can raise the compression
