Default cc'd a set of 5.3L truck heads....

Last week I posted looking for the cc's of a stock 5.3L truck head. I am in the process of laying out a set of pistons for a supercharged motor project. I cc'd them today and they are 68cc's. I also checked a set of LS1 heads at the same time and they are 64cc's.

Just wanted to pass on this data.

Why don't you cc the runners while you are at it?

The chambers are one thing the runners are something completely different. The intake and exhaust runner volume are the big mystery that everone has on the board here.

I think you got that backwards, the 5.3 is 64cc and LS1 is 68cc. My stock 5.7 chambers measured 67.6cc. My stock intake and exhausts ports measured 202cc and 76.2cc

FWIW, I CC'd 2 sets of 98 ls1 heads. Both at 70cc.
A reputable CNC head shop also got 70cc on a 3rd set of 98 ls1 heads.
Maybe some of the early 98 heads had larger chambers then.

I checked them twice! The 5.3L chamber clearly looks larger! It appears to be much deeper on the spark plug side of the chamber. The overall chamber width is definately smaller on the 5.3 but much deeper as well. I'll check it again and also cc the runners.

My MMS Stage III 6.0L heads have ~76cc chambers. Too bad I don't have a supercharger.

I was actually going to ask about the 6.0 or LS6 heads for use on a Supercharged setup as this sounds like the same route I will be taking.

Has anyone put this combination together or compared it to the 5.3L head yet?

What do use you to CC the chambers, a burette and water? Just curious. Thanks.

I use colored rubbing alcohol.
Water is to viscous.
