Default Did a search but still confused: Main Bearing clearance??

Helms says .0007 to .00212 I've seen others state to go a little bigger for a hi-po rebuild. I've just did the first journal and come to a clearance of .0029

Now in the other post it was stated that you should try to get .025-.035 Seems a little too large

For the measurement I used a dial bore guage and 2-3" micrometer

Any help would be much appreciated

Using a micrometer, you want between .002 and .003 on the mains and rods. Lass than .002 and you will risk munching a main....been there. Plastigauge will usually read a little on the low side.
