Default Guys with TR230 and milled heads....

I'm looking to go with the stage 2 GTP heads at the first of next year. Anyone else with that cam/head combo? Did Thunder Racing determine if there was clearance issues with that cam and milled heads?

I have The TR230 with GTP truck heads milled .015 and have no p/v clearence issues. I believe they are .085 clear.

I have ported LS1 heads milled .060". The reason I'm having to run valve reliefs in my pistons is because of the large 2.055" valves. P to V was tight with 2.02 valves and it was too close with 2.055 valves. If you run 2.02 valves and run heads milled .050" or less, you should be fine.

I"m milled .010 and no clearance problems. I have .085 clearance.

2.02s and less than a .050" mill will still clear? Man, that sounds tight...

The 230 is not a huge cam. You should be able to run 2.02s with a healthy mill...certainly into the .040" range.

Glad to hear that. So even if I remove material from a 241 chamber to increase low-lift flow, I can go all the way into the .040s! Of course, it will be checked, but this is good encouragement!
