CONTROVERSY = good ratings. I'll let you boys play some more

I'd rather have the track results than dyno numbers myself. Racing dyno sheets is only valid on the same dyno on the same day

Hey Terry I dont think the stock rear end will handel the power. If the gears brok on street tries, then anything stickier will do the same or more. I havent fixed its still the same with the broken gear. I am going to be living out of town for 3 weeks. When I come back I ll order the 12 bolt Moser. I am not saying your car is a **** why are you telling me mine is. Besides I dont think those guy with stock engien who turn 12.5's are running 120mph. And I am not after chaseing anyone down, not afraied of them either. Well even when i put my 12 bolt and sliks I dont think I'll be faster than you I am guessing 11.3-11.7's on 3700 race wieght. This is how I got the number 2.2 60' will be like 1.6' so that .5-.6 secods right their that i ll be able to hook on all gears. When my engein was built, the main point was to have the car run on 91 octane. All I know all the work was done in the backyard, what did i get out of alots knolege. Were building 427 now for a diffrent car. I dont like to trash talk to GM guys but you like doing that for some reason.

Dont you think 453rwhp is okay for a 370ci due to the fact it was done right here in my backyrad? that was with only 500 miles on it.

Lets say if you got any free time you want to meet somewhere?

JP98SS: Yes that was me. IF you got a car that makes 500 rwhp and i only got 450. the car with 500rwhp weights about 400lbs less would you put money on it. I am not abcking out make them both equal at least the weight them you got yourself $500 bucks. What do you think? I am not a guy who will back out of either. But if I was after your their is alway juice to light you up. I could go about 150-200 shots. The rings have the exra gap in em.

I never said I was donw with my car on pos stock rear end. I never though it would break on street tires. I was going to but the 12 bolt but not now. Since it's all F***** up then i ll get one.

What's so hard to believe about that? I ran 11.56@115.54 MPH with 316 RWHP. The raceweight was 3285. It's not about how much power you make but how you put it to the ground.

I think I know where you were trying to go with this thread Joe and I to had been wanted to get a guestimated comparison of RWHP/ ET results. I personally don't get off to dyno numbers, in fact I have only dyno'd once and I wasn't impressed I guess because I didn't have before and after comparison. I was however impressed with the results SOTP (Buttometer). I see guys cranking out 440-460 "peak" RWHP that can't hang anywhere near the tail lights of my wife in her Grocery getting, school bus , work driven SS. My point being, I am like ol' Joe . It's nice to get an across the board view of about what a given vehicle with appx 400-420 RWHP might run at a given weight. Yeah, it's a guess that has alot of variables, but we can always add or subtract to get a ball park idea. This thing got stirred up pretty good over a simple statement. I think we all need to have a "group hug".lol.
Joe- It's faster than you think or will be. You have the driving down, the traction and ideal track. All we need now is good cool dry air. I think about -1800 DA ought to do it.lol Good luck.

BTW- You would have smoked our butt bad. You know what I mean.Take care.

So your going to put some weight in the car right. we could just roll to a truck stop weight my car first then match yours up. I ll pay for the cost. Like I said my rear end it gone I could only run street tires with it. So either you could go down to street tires or you going have to wight till my 12 bolt comes in. After words I am taking my car to Jenny Craig for some serious weight reduction. I am in the game are you. Try to make both cars even in weight and run same type of power. After all the you still have that extra 50rwph? So whats up.

here some interesting info...

I was dynoing 448rwhp/439rwtq with 10bolt 3.42's and a tranny that wouldn't power shift, let alone speed shift very well.
Best I ran was 12.5@112
I consistantly ran 112-113 trap speeds. Even on a pass with slicks and a 4500 drop off the line.

I put in a new cam and am now at 456rwhp 435rwtq and ran on ET streets the other night dropping it from 5-6k off the line and ran consistant 117-118 traps in the 11.70-11.9 range. Still not shifting the greatest, my tranny is f'd again, but better than before.
WTF is up with that???

you havent seen my heads or the cam. you dont even know the specs. Their is always better everone knows that. You could even make more power with better heads and cam for your setup. It's all about the $$$. IF you dont know the sopecs dont tell me it could do better.

WTF is up with that???

Those number that I got was from Carlsbed, everyone know its pos track it doenst hook. Plus I was on street tires. But I know for sure I havent seen 112, 113, or 115. My mph is up in the 118's to 120 spinning all the way to the track the 1/8mile. I am not saying I got the ****. that was the first time out to the track with the setup. My car was running like 210 degrees, my rev limter was at 6800 rpm which wasnt good. so new rev is at 7200 rpm so i could **** around 6900 to 7000 rpm. and running cooler now around 175-185 thats what a-tap says. I think i could get more mph cause i will be in my pwer band now.

If I could pull around 121-123 I think 10's is very possible. again I have to get use to the car its m6. All I need now is the 12 bolt any slicks.

I recall a bunch of M6/ average weight cars that dynoed 390-400rwhp that went 116-118mph a few years ago locally.

So I guess, without seeing how peaky some of these new 420-440rwhp setups look like, I would expect you or anyone claiming mad baller powwa like that to run 120-122mph even on et streets or drag radials.

I think a 383 M6 should go a wee bit faster so 122-125mph.

383ss was having some problems with O2 sensors in my opinion and they were acting up. he ran 118 hitting the limitor twice in 2 and in 3rd. also he could not shift hard and might have lost a mph there. so i think 121 will be easy with a good working drivetran. also 4.10s will help him out tremendously. he only did that in 3 gears basicly! also, running in the middle of ks and mo sucks. we dont get mine weather EVER.
