Default 806 heads...
Anyone ever heard of the 806 head before? That's whats on my SS and have never heard of it before. Its a 98 so I'm sure that's a common casting but I dunno. Thanks in advance...

Those are the 98 castings. I have the same ones on my car.

I have the same heads on my 99. but they are ported heads and are from a 98.

Ok just wondering... I had heard some 853 castings were on 98s and never heard much talk about 806s

806 hear on my 98.. waiting to change over to some 241's (as soon as they get ported)

806 is the perimeter valve cover LS1 heads, theyre common
99 they went to center bolt and changed casting to 241

No, they changed to 853s THEN to the 241s.

yes, thats right...

97, 98 = 339/806
99-01 = 853
01-04 = 853/241

better?

there is variation in there... ive seen 99 cars with 241s also.
