Fixed mine up today. Im a huge idiot because i found the bolts in my old garage. I couldnt see any cracked on the bottom. But i took a boroscope to the inside and there were 3 good size cracks. Not sure if that was causing a vacum leak. The car seems to drive pretty much the same as before. Little less idle hang. Also did the ls6 pcv valley while i had it off. Alls good thanks for all the help.

Im not sure on the boroscope i used. We just got it in at my shop. I know its about 4k and has its own 8inch screen tv monitor. I see nothing wrong with fixing the cracks. It worked out really well. Im glad i didnt spend 400 on a new bottom.

Now that I think of it though, I only had the FAST instructions handy and there were no specific torque specs for those so I just tightened them in a star pattern.

Edit: Went out to the garage & pulled the intake off, sure enough you can see the indentions of the bolt heads, although I don't see cracks. Hopefully I lucked out! I will be picking up the button head bolts first thing tomorrow!
Sorry to bring up this thread from the dead, but I bought my 90 in 2004 and it didn't come with any buttonhead hardware. I haven't pulled the intake off yet to check it, but I just tightened the intake by hand, hoping mine isn't cracked!!! Anyone have a pic of one with cracks & where I should look? Thanks!!!
