Default Sounds like audible pinging, but no KR?

Anyone have any idea what this could be?

No KR with several passes on Autotap, but sounds like audible pinging under hard acceleration.

Could it be internal? Maybe a loose rocker arm? Or is it more likely my belt or something?

Do you have Ed Wright tuning? If so, make sure he did not turn off your knock sensors.

I have LS1 Edit Jason, and the knock stuff is all set to stock. I am running total timing at 26 degrees with zero knock and about 11.1:1 CR. Can't figure out what's making the knocking sound

This is a silly one, but I figured I would throw it in there.

I was getting what sounded like detonation at higher rpms (like somebody had just thrown in a bag of marbles) with no KR, no loss in time....nothing. I couldn't figure out what it was.

It turned out to be my tranny. I grabbed it one day during a high speed run, and could "feel" the noise....

I guess something is wearing out with my tranny tolerances, and it now makes this noise at higher RPMs. It sounds alot like detonation.

I just replaced my tranny mount on Saturday, and a lot of vibration & noise went away. It didn'te really sound much like pinging, though.

I am also suspecting the tranny. It's a Th350 and I have been getting lots of vibration from down there lately. Think the tranny is about o crap on me

I learned the hard way that if it is pinging it probably is detonation even if ATAP shows no KR!

When I had my SC I thought I heard the pinging, but ATAP showed no knock retard, so I didn't get off the gas on my test runs. Goodbye head gasket & ringlands.

I'd cut your timing or boost, or increase your octane and see if it goes away.

11.1:1 compression, 94 octane, 50 degrees outside, only 26 degrees of timing = knock?

I have a hard time believing it's knock...been running this combo for a few months now with no issues. Just started up in the last few days.

bad tank of gas?? operating temps increased??

Its simple test if you have edit to reduce the high octane table 5 degrees, test it, and then either restore it or dial it in. I'm guess I'm just a bit nervous when I hear knock now.

I thought about that. Guess I will do that. Getting ready to tear things apart though, so not in a hurry.

Simple experiment.

Using your LS1 Edit, reduce the timing.

Does it still make the noise?

I drove a H/C M6 car that had audible detonation at part throttle right when I would get into it... it needed more fuel.
