I get a lot of valvetrain noise even though I have double springs with silencers.

I get a ton of KR at part throttle, but none at WOT. If you added a cam and didn't run any better at the track, you are either pulling 6+ degrees of it, or something else is very wrong.

Yeah, you gotta A-Tap it. I went through the same thing w/ KR 'cause of my noisy valvetrain/exhaust/etc...

Rewrote my low Octane table w/ the high octane chart and no more probs. Instant 40hp, at least!

I just got done almost the same install last night but with comp 918's. I have not gave it fulll throttle yet but I do have a lot of valve drain noise. The noise worried me but It sounds like it is normal right? Let me know whats up with your car I will try and a-tap mine tonight.

Default Valvetrain noise and KR?

I just installed the tr224 cam with isky 1116 springs in my car a few weeks ago. The car is a stock 99 FRC, theonly other mod I have is a ls6 intake.

The car runs good, but it does seem to have lost a it of pull below 4k rpms. The cam was installed straight up with the SLP double chain.

The valvetrain is pretty noisey even when the car warms up, when yu sit inside with the radio on it sounds almost like an exhaust leak.

My question is does anyone else have this problem? Also has anyone auto tapped to see if it messes with the knock sensors.

The reason I ask is I took my car to the track and my times did not improve (same 60ft time also). The MPH did pick up by 1.8mph.

THe car will be going on the dyno shortly. I don't have atap anymore but I am about ready to buy it again.

I've had my TR224 in for about 5 months now. It sounds like a sewing machine is under the hood.
Even with all that racket, I have never seen more than 1 degree of KR.

SSinful, how do you re write your low octane table with values from your high octane table. Is there some way to just copy and paste or do you have to enter each individual value. Thanks.

Daily: No such luck on the "copy/paste" thing yet. The *next* version is supposed to be able to letcha do that, so we (John B & me) downloaded the LS1_Edit High Octane table on his p.c., printed it, and then...

...fat-fingered...
...all...
...9,000... (actually 400 or so)
...entries...

into the low Octane tables.
