Putting together some ideas and plans. Assume:
6.0 block
forged pistons
forged rods?? (would stock do?)
stock crank
ARP head studs, rod bolts,
billet main caps and upgraded bolts
O ringed block and heads
What are the thoughts on the bore for such a project? Any other way to increase the CI on this setup? Maybe different size rods? Shouldn't be much difference in $ if going to a forged rod anyway. What would the CI come out to?
$$ doesn't permit a stroker crank right now, but might be an option in the future. Lets hear some thoughts.

A 0.030" over bore should handle the 300hp shot just fine and give you a 369 CI displacement

.030-040" overbore would probably be best. The minimal amount of added hp from a .060" overbore wouldnt be worth the risk of weakening the block.
The stock rods should be fine. Rods tend to fail from tensile stress instead of compressive stress. How high are you gonna spin the motor?

personally i would not go over .030 for that much spray. the thinner the cyl wall the more flex from the pressure.. also if or should i say when you burn it down you still have some meat left for another over bore.. NOS is great i run lots of it but with a 300 shot you will most likely burn it down at least once getting the tune right if you want the most out of it.. use coatings on the piston dome and combustion chambers which will also give you some protection in case it leans out.. things just have a tendency to happen.. would NOT use the stock rod for that much spray.. even with new bolts.. iwould pay close attention to your oiling system because with that much spray especially if it is a single stage you can load the crank really heavy and eat your bearings.. you don't need a stroker just put a good set of Nitrous pistons in it with lowered ring lands and a good rod.. this will give you an added measure of safety...maybe look at nitriding the stock crank if that is the way your going for some extra rigidity.. if you want 700 hp out of it build it for 1000.. not the other way around.. it will last much longer and not spit as many parts.. save that for your driveline..LOL just my o2 good luck!!
