The 434ci is back! Thanks MTI
The first block developed a small crack in the cylinder sleeve on the back driver's side cylinder. We didn't see it because of its location when I did the head swap a few weeks ago. MTI put together a fresh block (warranty rules!) and we busted *** on it to get the car done for the event. Now that they use different sleeves and an improved insertion procedure, this one should live easier than my first experiemental block. We didn't change anything except added the SLP double-roller timing chain this time, just for durability. I also installed my el-cheapo PCV catch-can and it worked flawlessly this weekend. No smoking valvecovers, no blowing oil, etc... Me happy!
Special thanks to the guys at MTI for helping me get this car done. Pecos stayed late to assemble the longblock, Mike, Josh, and Lloyd for helping me pull the engine and put it back in, and thanks for letting this shadetree mechanic use your tools. Also, thanks to Jayson for letting me use his lift and keeping the shop open late at night so we could get it wrapped up.
Now, lets do some more racing....

Your car was running great once again for what it weighs!!! Too bad you got paired with Judson in the first round of eliminations in Pro Stock
Good job out there for representing the TEXAS crowd once again (Texas boys won alot of classes/trophies/prizes)I owe you a cerveza!!!

Congrats Man! I am pleased to hear that you and MTI got that BAD BOY fixed up in time for the BIG EVENT!
MTI ROCKS and so does that BEAST of an FBODY that you run. I just put down my deposit for MTI ironblock 422 LS1 with S1 cam and Stage III LS6 Heads for my 98 C5 Roadster and needless to say I AM PUMPED and CAN"T WAIT FOR SPRING!
Car will be trailored from Chicago in a couple of months for MTI to rock it majic on my BABY and to transform it into a firebreathing 10 second BEAST!

The car definatly has more in it, get some break-in miles on the motor and take some weight out
What were your RPM's going through the traps with those new 28"ers on the back?
Roadster, I got your email. You made the right choice for your future goals. I wish I could spray this motor, but I can't.
BHB, that 10.67 on the first pass was fun. I cut a 1.48 60' time without lifting a tire.

The LG Suspension worked flawlessly all day long as well. 1.47-1.52 60' times in this HOG!
Another good note is that the Cartek clutch never slipped once, I figured for sure I'd find its limit with the 5K rpm dumps and 20 passes in this tank, haha.

Your car is the ultimate sleeper! The car is so docile through the SLP dual/dual, but one flip of the switch opens the cutout and lets it come to life! The new WS-6 hood looked REALLY good. It's hard to beat a big-cid LS1 that can drive so docile down the road yet click off mid-10's with the change of some tires. I'd say it did really well for a car in full street trim!

Trevor, that electric cutout (QTEC) is a blast. We had alot of fun with it in the parking garages here when I took the car downtown clubbing with Sanders lol. I think I even scared some small children.
