Double help needed

first and foremost, I have been making a few threads here and thre, sorry but Im so undecided as to what I should do.
I also need reccomendations on what gearing to get, along with what cam to get.
firstly, how difficult is it going to be to do a head/cam package, I understand my headers, intake manifold, etc will ned to come off. But this may be a dumb question, but will I need to drop my engine to do a head and cam package install?
I am looking for something as streetable with a 224/224 or a 228/228 cam, but want a higher peak HP. I was thinking something in the 230 range, but not as big as a 238. I will have a
If I go with 3.73s I was thinking a 230 cam with 112 LSA or with 3.90 gears 236 cam with 111 LSA... I think those would be somewhat streetable.
Also if the head and cam package is that hard to do ( dropping the engine) then am I better off rebuilding to a 383 and going with even a bigger cam?
I was looking to spend 2 grand, but if the rebuilding is a better idea I am willing to wait a few more months and spnd 6 grand. or even better yet wait a year and spend 12 grand o a new L92 block... inwhich that case what would be a good streetable cam?
I doubt this will get many answers since I have so many minor questions and its basically all preference, but I dont wanna make a mistake.

Some key points
I have all supporting mods: Lts, ory ( soon tsp true duals) and Lm1/dynomax bullet, lid and cold air induction ( havent ported T/b or MAf yet) also no tune yet.
engine has 85,000 miles +/- a few
a 2002 Z28, pewter, m6
currently rebuilding my transmission
aluminum flywheel
and ls7 clutch
going with anywhere from 3.56 - 3.90 gear range, FOrd 9" probably a Moser, leaning towards tru trac. also have almosta full suspension on the car.
if easy to do, going for my stock 346, with some ls6 heads and a 232 cam(example)
if not an easy task, may wait a few more months and do a 383 with a bigger cam.
or if that isnt worth it, I will wait over a year ( dont really wanna wait this long at all) and do a l92 with, yet even a bigger cam
looking for somewhat streetable, a daily driver, but due to the lack of low end, that is why I am choosing 3.90s, but if a 232 will be reasonable I will stick to 3.73s or 3.56s.

to help make myself a bit more clear ( hopefull, that is my goal) I will provide a couple of examples of what I am wanting to do...
I am thinking of doing a head/cam package first. Even if it will take a lot of work...A cam in the range of 232 - 236 duration 112 or 111 LSA for a bit higher RPM torque than stock with 3.73s trutrac....
3.73s because in over a year I will leave my drivetrain, aluminum flywheel, 3.73 trutrac moser and aluminum 1200 Hp rated driveshaft..but upgrade my powerplant to a L92 and go with a larger cam. the 3.73s should pull just fine, even if I go with a rather large cam, since It has a 4.0 stroke it will make plenty of low end torque, but I cant have any overlap past 110 LSA, since the stroker will not be a good choice with it.
what cam would be good for a DD, makes a lot of torque, but high Horsepower, so I want midrange and top end, but dont want to completely lose power during cruising..
Also I drag race and Track race my car, besides it being a DD.

A head and cam swap is not very difficult, with help from a friend it should only take a weekend to do all saturday and sunday.
Going with a built engine is always a good thing IMO, so if you have the $$ to do it then do everything at once. if you dont have enough right now for the engine but you can get the heads/cam then go for it.
I suggest you at least buy a ported TB and a LS6 intake for the swap too.

What gears are you running with your cam an dhow much a difference did you see after the cam change? what heads are you running?

where did you get that cam from and what are all your boltons if you please?

mods in the sig, i still have to install my ported TB, and underdrive pulley, power was made through z06 wheels, and 12bolt w/ 3.73s
u cant go wrong w/ either cam, call TSP up they'll point u in the right direction

also can you link me to those heads? chat CR would they leave you at?
so 406 RWHP with all boltons excluding a ported TB and underdrive pulley as well as a 12 bolt with 3.73s
Also what dynamometer was it dynoed on?
