Anything bad about them?

Do they lose hp if they are used?

Be sure to check the condition of the guides. If the guides are worn, then that will lead to high oil consumption, and carbon build up on the valves. Also check the condition of the seats and valves, if you intend to re-use the valves. If the seats are worn, then that will lead to power loss.

Sometimes, if the heads are seriously used, the machine work required to get them back in shape is prohibitive. It really depends what the heads are to determine if the investement in machining is better than buying a new set.

Your still gonna pay top dollar for used afr's and when it comes to seats and seals it doesnt lower the price that much. Every once in a great while you'll see some at $1600 the lowest and they will need springs at the very least. Good luck.

if price is an issue then maybe you should look for a used set of stock heads or LS6 heads. can pickup a set for under 500 bucks sometimes. dont forget you are going to spend at least 500 more in gaskets and random crap (oil pump, maybe timing chain, ect...) doing the head swap.

I found a new set of AFR's on here dirt cheap. You just have to keep looking in the for sale section and be ready to act.

Money in hand is the only way to snag a good deal on AFR's. Everyone wants them so they hold thier value pretty good. Congrats!
