Default What do you use to clean off carbon buildup?

I'm putting on a set of stock heads onto my car and I wanted to clean up all the carbon buildup on the heads and valves? What chemical cleaner should I use? Thanks!

I should mention that the heads and valves are off the car, so I am looking for something to spray on and let sit and then wipe off.

You can use GM Top Engine Cleaner --- it comes in an aerosol version. You can get it at any GM dealer, or mail order from SDPC.

Almost any carb cleaner should also work OK.
