This reply about someone's TEA heads being liked much more is not a fair statement. The average int. flow of the GTP head is 254 cfm and the TEA average int flow is only 244 cfm take stack away from TEA's exhaust and GTP's head is much better! Nice numbers BLKBRD RAMAIR

Don't get upset <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Just a little good natured teasing intended nothing more or less.

Indeed GTP makes an excellent set of heads, I would never imply otherwise.

In two cases I know of TEA's and GTP's being flowed on the same bench. The flowbench results were very close within single digit cfm and single digit cfm average according to the operators. Neither operator works for GTP or TEA.

GTP certainly makes an outstanding product.

Seems to me like adding a pipe to the GTP's and testing the GTP's with a pipe would be the fair way to compare for a more realistic test for exhaust.

If I offended anyone by saying nice numbers and after seeing them I like TEA that much more, I fully apologize.

Good call maybe everyone should flow with a pipe but the engine also has an intake and a throttle body. And we all know how much an intake manifold kills the intake numbers so what is really the right way to advertise your flow numbers?

Look guys there is no real honest way to flow either port the exhaust pulls a charge threw the intake port during overlap this inhances the intake flow how do you measure that? And what about the hole exhaust how much does it do to the quality of the exhaust port bottom line is flow numbers and dyno numbers don't mean a hell of alot. What about flow numbers when you add fuel (wet flow )and piston speed at different rpm's?

The way you measure all that is easy its called a "DYNO". It is honest way as long as same dyno is used for back to back tests or comparisons. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

LS1DERFUL you think that a car on a dyno sees the same load as it does when it is moving its own weight and how about the amount of air moving threw the air intake. They are nothing more then tools. This is just an opinion but you can't simulate everything.

I agree about track mph but how many changes can you make at the track and retest same day for consistent weather and other variables? Heads can be compared by dyno testing is the only point im making here.

Dyno is for testing and tuning, track is for proving performance. I dont want to be misunderstood here, i think everybody should post track times as well as dyno results, that way hp numbers can be qualified.I am not siding with any brands here, just giving my opinion on functionally testing heads differences by dyno testing.

Ok but how does an engine dyno work? It puts a load on the engine right!the harder its loaded the more it will show chassis dyno don't load the car this way!Think about it your on the dyno cars in 4th @2500 rpm floor it how long does it take to reach max rpm? I would bet it takes alot longer to do this on the road there for there is much more load when moving its own weight!Dyno's are for tuning thats it thats all!
