Suggestios on which cam
Im new to this cam stuff but I think it's where I'm going for a winter project. What I'm looking for in a cam is driveability, not much mpg loss under normal driving, stock heads & stock intake manifold. Im just looking for a nice little gain, I know with those requirments I cant get anything too crazy. Anyone know a good cam for this? Also what else would I need other than the cam like springs etc? Thanks!

Re: Suggestios on which cam
I would highly recommend the C1 Hammer cam 112 lc(.222/.566). It is what I am running now.Several others run it with stock heads. I have seen high mid 11s with stock heads and it is a fairly mild cam. You will need new push rods, valve springs, oil, filter, coolant, etc. Call MTI and they will take care of you. This cam pulls like a monster and you don't have to turn the car over 6500 rpm. That's my two cents. Good luck!

Look at MTI's website. MTI F-Body engine section. For what you are asking for the B1 fits what you want a little more than the C1. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: Suggestios on which cam
I am going to use a TR-220 cam with ported heads, FLP headers, and an LS6 intake.
Some folks will say I am leaving some HP on the table with this cam, especially using it with headers and ported heads. This may well be true, but the cam will have very good throttle response, great low rpm torque, and no idle problems in my A4 car.
So, just my opinion, but in your [stock] engine, I would select no bigger than a TR-220. If you want to keep GM parts in the engine, I would use a 2002 LS6 cam (it's bigger than the 2001 LS6 cam). Of course, the LS6 cam will yield less HP and torque at high revs than the TR-220.

Could the 2002 LS6 cam be used with all stock parts? If not what needs to be replaced, as I said before, money is an issue

Contact FMS and check out the 226 .591 on a 114 u can use comp 918s, comp push rods and a rollmaster timing set from scoggin dickey parts it makes good power with stock heads or the 226/230 .591 114 it makes a little more but the idle is a little rough.

I shouldnt have said stock. The internals are stock. I have Hooker Lts,off road y pipe, FTRA, Lid, Loudmouth, Ported throttle body, and the EGR mod, k&n filter. I was thinking the TR224,Comp918 springs, stall converter, and 3.73 gears. My car is an A4.
