Default Hammer Cam users inside please!

My car surges some and when it does it will drop to low and die. How much did you guys drill the throttle body or did you?

Also whats your idle set at?

Besides that the car runs awesome.

Thanks

My car has the C2 112 and is doing pretty well considering I havn't tuned it yet. Have you tried adjusting the idle set screw? Have you checked your IAC with a scanner? My car is currently idling at about 750-800 rpms(no Atap)just by eye. When I turn on the heater or AC while idling, the rpms start to drop once in a while, and the car acts as though it's going to stall out. I did drill out my TB blade to 7/32 which is too big for just the cam alone. However, I will be installing heads in the near future and the TB hole should work out fine.

Almost forgot:

I too have the C2, but on a 114. So far I've brought my idle up to 900 and set the rev limiter to 6600. 90% of the time she starts up fine. It's the 10% that she takes 10 seconds or so hunting for the idle.

Why did you set the idle higher when you have a M6 and a 114lsa cam?

I set my idle at 1000rpms, it even idle fine at 900 and 950. I think I need to drill the hole bigger. I thought it was too big, guess not. I Forgot how big I drilled it so dont ask lol.

Hopefully making a trip to Houston soon to get dynoed so hopefully something will work out.

I have the C1 cam (222/222 .566/.566 112 lsa) and the idle is set at 900 rpms. I have a little cam surge when driving slow through the parking lot, but no start up or idle problems at all. I've never had it die on me. I don't know if the throttle blade was drilled or not because MTI did the install and they also used LS1 edit to set the idle and change the rev limiter, etc. Good luck.

I also have the C1 cam from MTI, mine was installed about 2 months ago. My M6 idles at about 850 and I have had no problems with idle with or without AC. As someone mentioned earlier my car will surge if idling through a parking lot at below about 1700-1800, but other than that it does great. I am almost 100% positive that MTI did not drill out my throttle blade, they did tune the car.

i have the c1 hammer. my car never surges,it drives almost like stock. i did have to drill the hell out of the t-body,after racing it when i would come to a stop it wanted to die, drilling the t-body stoped this problem 13/64. now,my car sounds like a sewing machine.
