Default 6.0 LS1 Bottom End

I was talking to a shop in my area about doing a head and cam package on the 99 6.0 motor that I have.
I want to go to A 5.7 Head because they are aluminum and ease of raising compression. Now I am unsure what pistons Gm puts in these motors I think they are a 9.5 motor from the factory. Well a long story short the guy told me I can expect about 440 RWHP with what I want to do. But he also told me to remove the factory Pistons and Rods, he was telling me that they are weak and would not hold up very long at all. I was planning on running a 100 shot of N2o along with A set of stage 2 heads and a decent cam.
Do you guys think I should rebuild the short block? as of right now the motor has about 35k on it.

Also who do you guys think has or builds the best set of stage 2 heads?

I would assume ther similar to the psitons and rods that are in our 5.7ls1. True they both are weak, but alot of guys have been running shots up to 200. Most stick to 100-150. So as long as you watch your system and not get any knock or lean out, you should be fine adding the squeeze.
