Default WTF??? Change oil light.

Ok so I just got my car out of storage and am driving it home and the next thing I know the freakn oil light comes on. The oil was changed the day that I put it in storage and there's maybe about 80 miles on since then. I did put the car instorage in October. Why would this come on? I checked the oil level and its perfect. Running Mobile1 and its just as clean as when it went in. The car was started on a regular basis while in storage and had about 1/2 tank of gas ran through it during that time. No actuall driving. Any Ideas???? TIA

The computer sets it off I beleive its time based, not like the European cars that detect so much metal in the oil via a electrical current. You gotta turn the key a few times to clear it, i have to wait for my buddy to get home from State Trooper Acdemy to ask, he was a ex-service tech at a chevy dealership.

the oil change light is based on time and RPMs... The more time you spend at higher RPMs it thinks the dirty is oil and it is time to change it.

to reset the oil light, turn the key to the "on" position, pump the gas pedal to WOT 3 times. turn key off start car no more light

I turn the key to the on position (I don't start the car) and pump the gas 3 times. That works for me.
