Default Who is Still using Comp941's

Working on new setup and was considering alternatives. Have had comp 941 in for 60,000 k no probs.Still have spare set seems a waste to change plus my titanium retainers.

Anybody else still willing to use them.

I got a briefly used set from a friend. He was running them with his T1. I had them installed on my new heads. So far, so good. Cam is 226/226 .591/.591 113LSA.

A buddy of mine runs a TR230 cam with them, no problems. Before that he ran a T1 cam for over 25K miles on Comp 918's, no problems...

For what is worth. I talked to Comp cams about the 941's. They said they are only good to a .530 lift. Anything above that and you will be breaking spings. Just letting you know what they told me.

I've had the 941s on my car with a T1 for about 2 years/25,000 miles now. I think the amount of lift you can give them depends on the installed height. I also don't beat on the car until it's fully warmed.

I'm still running the same set of 941's since I had them installed on my car with 10,000 miles on the odometer. My car now has ~70,000 miles!! Yes, I have ~60,000 miles on my 941's!! I think I hold some record or something. I run my car up to 6000+ rpms at least once a day. It is my daily driver. It currently has 5.3l heads (milled .030, stock valves, three angle valve job), 222/222 .571/.571 114lsa cam (used to have a T1), comp lifters, ti retainers, etc. 2000 trans am ws6 convt.

Katech still swears by the 941s. I had them installed with my new cam, with titanium retainers, so hopefully I'll be ok. We'll see.

I have had 941 springs in my motor for less than 5,000 miles. Cam, exhaust 573/595 @ 112 LSA. I have had 2 broken springs. One after hitting the rev limiter (6,700) rpm. Braking the spring and inner coil. Destroying 2 shims and the roller rocker let go putting 33 needle bearing in the motor. (I have only found 22 of them). The second time, I was driving 50 mph and it let go. If It wasn't for good friends who are LS1 techs I would be
I don't feel secure driving any distance knowing the springs will let go at anytime without warning.

Man, I have about 20,000 miles on mine. Not using alot of lift .525/.532 but I've seen the 6700rmp limiter several times. Shifting alot at 6500rpms. Never a problem. I have some 918's ready to go on but who knows if I even need them.
