Ya Ive been wondering the same thing. I have 144k on mine, but ive never had any problems with the motor itself, and I change the oil every 3,000 miles. Ive never seen somone on this forum regret doing a cam swap in a high milage car...

It is not lift or duration that will be an issue but rpm.
Keep it under 6300 and you shouldn't have issues.

what would a cam swap have to do with spinning a rod bearing?

put to large of a cam which is designed for high rpm redline and you will be tempted to run it that high. That will spin a rod bearing on even a lower mileage motor. I have 104k on my trans am. Oil pressure is about 30 psi at 600 rpm idle and about 60 psi under a load. I would not even think twice about a cam swap. Just dont get **** in the motor when you do the swap and get a good look at those cam bearings. Cam bearings usually don't go out too easily, but when they are worn and you slap a new cam in, it can eat em up. I found that out just in time to save the motor in my last high mile cammed car.

Did my H&C swap two weeks ago with 156,000 miles on the motor. When they took it apart she was clean and in good shape. I replaced EVERYTHING they took off though and put in all new parts. She runs good and stronger than ever. I've always taken care of my cars though. Never redline her or pushed her to the limits.

mileage doesn't matter... I put my cam in at 60k. One year later it blew up at 92k. Every motor is different, you just need to determine the history of your motor, and any issues it might have. Don't over rev it whatever you do.

I voted 100k but, I see now most think 125k+ . either way I think thats high but, if I did w/ over 100k I wouldn't go big cam, maybe something like 220/220 114lsa .02

i did one at 114k. did fine. i would do an oil pump, springs and if you plan on spinning it any higher i would go with rod bolts too. but, to answer your question i would say about 250k is pushing it lol, i would probally try it even then.
