Default Go big or Stay smogable???????? help me decide

Can't decide whether I wanna go big on the cam with something like a 230/224 111 LSA or stay somewhat smog legal with the 224/224 114 LSA

I kinda want a cam that will lope but still make good power.

What would you guys do? go big and change it at smog time or go small and not change it?

I am in San Diego as well, and about a week ago was trying to firm up my choice...same choices you had. You have to ask yourself if you want to put the time, and maybe money, into the larger grind. If you are willing to put the time into swapping it out again, and want the lope and some more power, go bigger.

I personally ordered the larger grind.

I went with the TR224 114LSA in order to stay smog legal. I dont want to have to worry about dealing with it or getting pulled over because my car is too loud. I also wouldnt want to change it out to get my car smogged. That could could get pretty expensive. You have it installed the first time and then when smog time comes around you replace it with a smog legal cam. Then you put the aftermarket cam back on. Thats three times you are going to pay to have the cam installed. Now if I could do the install myself i would consider doign this but you know how sometimes things dont work out the way we want them to.

I still havent installed it on my car. I am sure once I get it installed I'll be really happy with the performance.

CY: So which cam did you get? The 230?

I went with the 230, i figured i'm young and foolish, so why not <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> . Actually i just figured since i am installing the cam myself, its not a huge deal swapping a cam. I think the most time consuming part of a cam install is spring, retainer swap.

cy: I'd love to hear how your car sounds once you get the cam installed. I bet it's going to lope pretty hard.
