help me, C1 or C2 cam?
I ordered stage II ls6 heads and the C1 cam from MTI and should be getting them in a couple of weeks.
I'm thinking on going with the C2 cam insted of the C1. I'm looking for 430rwhp and decent driving manners.
My first choice was to go with the C1 mainly because I thought it would have a better idle, now I've found out that the C2 cam has faster ramps and will possibly idle about the same and give me more power. Anybody know If this is true? Again, driving manners and idle are important to me, but if I can get more power out of my set up it would be great!!
My car: 01 ZO6 with long tube headers(no cats), S2 TB, Halltec intake, thermostat and M/T et streets. C1 222/222 566/566 112 xe ramps
C2 224/224 581/581 112 xe-r ramps
Thanks in advance for your input.
4.10s w/ 12 bolt really woke up my car. In low 70s (temp), I run 119 mph trap speeds. It hit lows 60s one night and I ran 12.04 at 120.4 mph w/ a 20.028 60 foot. With my clutch, I have a hard time launching w/ nittos. So I'm happy. Just want 11s.
Go with the C2 as it will still idle fine in your M12 tranny and will make more power. That is a winning combo you've picked no doubt and that same combo with the C2 Hammer cam was good for 10.6 ets in Raughammers 98 Z28. GO for all the gusto you can get, especially since if you do the C1 you will be kicking yourself in the **** wishing you stepped up to the plate with a more aggressive cam.
Best of luck.

EDIT: About 40 seconds into the first clip, you hear the idle change fairly significantly. That is me turning the A/C on.

My car has a 224/224 XE-R on a 113 LSA which is the C2 with one degree more of LSA. My custom 113 actually checked on the cam doctor as being a 112.25 LSA cam so I guess it's a default C2.
My car is tuned and idle fairly well. The car will surge/buck a little at parking lot speeds (5mph or less), but this isn't that much of an issue for a M6 car. Hit the clutch etc.
Valve train is fairly loud.
I suggest dual springs due to the fast rates.
I like the cam so far, only had it for one day! I would have been unhappy with anything much bigger. I might have been able to live with a 226/226 but the 224/224 XE-R seems like the better choice than the C1 if your springs are up to it
Good Luck
Keep the great info coming guys.
(I should have posted this three weeks ago before I placed my H/C order)
Thanks again.
Aint skeered great #s hope I can do that too.
