Default Pushrod length?

I have 7.4's now. I think I will need 7.35 with the new heads. AFR205's milled .030 with stock GM gasket (don't trust cometics, they leak) I know I should use a pushrod length checker, but need to order the pushrods.

Will there be any adverse effects of using the 7.4's?

AFR205s have at least .010 taller decks Vs stock castings, and your cam has a smaller base circle so 7.400 would be perfect

is 7.400 the normal length? Thats what Lengenfelter sells with the GT2-3 cam i want but someone told me to do it right you need to measure the base circ on the cam. Usually aftermarket cams are ground -.030" so you would need a 7.430.

just use the checker. if the 7.4's dont work your gonna have to measure and reorder anyway. better safe than sorry.

7.4 is the longer length pushrod for the smaller base circle cam.

You have to measure preload to find the right pushrod length, I just don't know how to do it. We have always used a 7.35 on milled heads and a 7.4 on stock. Not that it's my car I want to make sure I do it right.

I'm Using new GM LS7 lifters also.
