Man, make up your mind, lift too high, lift too low,
4 cams in that range:

TV2 112+4
TV3 112+2
G5X2 112
Predator X2 (231/240 .643/.608 112+4)

These have the VEs desired, all are within ~10 +/- rwhp

I will be doing tsp stg 2.5 5.3L heads too...
My 228R on a 114 + 4 makes ~ 320 rwtq at 3000 rpms.

5.3L stage 2.5 clears only 112+0 IIRC,
Speak to TSP they have special edition they sink the valves for more PTV.
You can also use 243s stage 1 stock valves. These have more PTV and flow within 5cfm of the 2.5/5.3L

You could just order the V2 on a 112+0(TSp off the shelf grind) and pick up an adjustable timing set to advance the cam, that way you always leave open the opportunity of changing the ICL at any time. Adjustable timing set are great to have. I love the Cloyes set i have, its super easy to adjust.

TSP's V2 already has a 112+2 ground into it off the shelf, if I remember right tsp said the V2 will work w/ the 5.3l heads no problem

I have the 228R and put down 425 RWHP and 400 RWTQ and my tune needs work. There may be 10 more HP in there somewhere.

so the TV2 would work well with the 5.3 and stock gaskets? Have u considered the TV3 thats what i was looking at and im curious now would that be too much of a high end cam and not enough torque below 2500rpm? Im in the same boat as u right now good thing i didnt order anything yet

95% sure, that is about as sure as you'll get.

choosing a cam can be crazy
i had the same 2 cams in mind last year (228r and V2), but i ended up with the 228r. better mid range power.

Well all I can say is it sounds like they aren't very sure. Thats kinda scarey. I might call up a couple more vendors and tell them your goals and what your trying to do. Once you get a couple of oppinions that are close to the same result then its just a matter of price or who you would rather deal with.
