Default Dyno numbers on MTI StageII's, TR230 cam, and spray....

In addition to my non dyno-friendly 12-bolt and 4.11 gears, the car was running through the full exhaust system (SLP 2OTL catback) and heavy 17x11/315-35 wheels/tires. Total street trim.

429rwhp 396rwtq N/A

556rwhp 565rwtq N2O

As usual, Jayson at MTI stayed with it until he had the A/F ratios just right. He made sure the overall tuning package was on the money before he let me out the door.

Jayson and Josh also patiently helped me work through an N2O wiring problem (that I should have sorted out on my own BEFORE I got there)

This is why I go to MTI.

Nice job Scott! What n20 kit are you using?

Don't forget you still have some free dyno time down here when you make the trip.

Scotty,

Is that the stock bottom end that you are spraying? or did you step up to forged internals?

also what kind of fuel system are you running to support the system?

Sorry for all the questions, just thinking about spraying my heads and cam, and most are telling me the bottom end will not survive.

Great #'s by the way, both N/A and Spray

I'll overlay the old vs new later today. Looks like the TR230 peaked at 6k and essentially stayed at peak numbers until 6800 redline. Best I remember the T1 peaked about the same but dropped off after.

bigSS
TNT F1 kit 100hp N2O jet and 150 fuel jet

Jason
The dyno time offer is appreciated and I still would like to make a trip to TR... never been there and would like to see the shop and visit with some LA folks.

The main reason I went to MTI was because they did the original LS1Edit tuning and I only want one person/shop working with the tuning at a time. I'm glad I did because the new cam required substantial fuel map changes to correct a lean A/F ratio.

Moose
Stock 50k mile bottom end. Stock fuel system. '98 28lb/hr injectors. I'll probably add a T-Rex inline for security. I would rather have an in-tank pump, and I'll do that once a good kit hits the market.

BTW... these dynos were done through the FULL exhaust (SLP 2OTL catback).....no changes at all from quiet street trim. Previous runs were done with the cutout open.

Looks like that cam responded well in the HP area, but not so much in the TQ area. We have guys in ATL gaining almost 300 FT LBS of TQ using the 100 shot on the TNT kits, however they're running traditional big split cams...

After seeing a few reverse splits dyno on the juice, it definately shows that they're N/A runners But an extra 130/170 to the wheels is most certainly icing on the cake

What would you guys think the difference would have been with the cutout open on the N2O run?

I know it's only worth about 5hp or so N/A, but I've heard that a cutout really helps on spray.

Nice numbers there, gives me a good idea of what mine would do on the spray. But on stock fuel system and stock pistons!?! That's ballzy.

What kind of fuel did you use? What is your timing at?

Justin, we have guys here in ATL running more nitrous and making 700+ ft lbs of TQ on stock bottom end's with heads/cam

Timing is set at 25 degrees. Drops to 22 or so when I get a little KR on the spray.

I spike the fuel with some 103 unleaded.

It's not ballsy to do this...probably more like stupid

Nice #s man. Im wondering why you ran the 100 nitrous and 150 fuel??!! What was the AF on motor? I know Im typically 12.8 on motor and on a TNT 100 kick I drop to 11.5 These kits are already extremely rich, I dont really see the need in adding more fuel. Either way, good #s man. Congrats.

I'd like to know your A/F ratio on N2O as well. TNT recommends 10.8:1 and it seems that you end up leaner than that around 11.4-11.6 with the correct fuel jet and bottle pressure so I was thinking about jetting up my fuel jet like you did for the safety of running at the correct A/F ratio.

Thanks
