What is with the Eagle rods?

What is with the Eagle rods? I was just about to order Eagle rods from JEGS (which is the cheapest place I have found) when I saw they are 6.1 in length. The stock rods are 6.098 in length. Will the Eagle rods work? I also noticed they have floating wrist pins. I am also going to purchase a set of Diamond boost pistons later, will the floating pin work with these?
Can anyone save me money and time?

Re: What is with the Eagle rods? You gotta match the rod length to proper compression height. Stock rods are only .002 shorter so any piston developed for that will work. Other combos use a 6.125 rod and those won't work.
I think the Eagle rods are an exceptional value -I bought a set of Eagles for $469 and bought pistons from MTI.

Re: What is with the Eagle rods? Dont buy them from Jegs, go to ebay and type in LS1 Rods. They are $475. I have them and they are perfect. You can use them with a piston made for a stock rod! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Re: What is with the Eagle rods? If the rods are 0.002 longer this should not effect the compression even .1. Thicker gaskets should make up for that, right. Thank ya'll for the quick responses.

Re: What is with the Eagle rods? If you are going to use these with the stock pistons you will need the wrist pin dia and pressed fit . Other wise you will need to have the pistons machined for sprial locks or you will need a set of buttons to hold the pin in. most after market rods use a .927 dia. pin. the .002 won't affect you a bit the stock compression height is like .008 in the hole lower than the deck.

Re: What is with the Eagle rods? Thats not right. With the stock rods, the stock pistons come out of the bore by .006", at least that's what I've heard.
Get the Eagle 6.125 inch rods. There should be off the shelf pistons that will work with that rod.
