Default How much to put a LS2 in a LT1 body

Hey guys i have a Lt1 trans am and i want to Put a 408 Stroker Ls2 with H/C and bolt ons....

and Really dont know how hard it is Because the LT1 to LS2 conversion!!

Should i do it??

How much should it be cost??

You're probably better off buying an LS1 car to start with. To do it correctly it would probably cost about 6-8k. I have put Gen3 motors in 3 S10 trucks and it cost between 4-6k.

If you have a donner car. It would make things a lot easier and cheaper, as everthing you need will be there.

go for it,what could you do to an Lt1 to make it run as hard as an Ls2 and get the fuel mi.,performance etc. thinking in that respect you will end up with an Ls based engine

Talk to F-Body Motorsports in Charlotte, they do lots of swaps like this. They have LS1's in third gens too.

There are a lot of places who can do it cheaper and better than FBM though. Look around, you'll find a good place.

Yea i Asked Zeus Performance They also specialize in Fbodys.

but they said things would be easier if i have a donner Ls1 car for Little parts....

oh yea would a Stock Ls1 Pcm Computer work on a Ls2?? or would i need one like from a 05 Gto???
