Hey predator-Z please answer the questons I have in post #16, I know you know this stuff! Really all I need to know is of this cam will work with the TR224 cam w/o flycutting but I dont know if my compression ratio will be to high to run 91 octane (thats the highest we got) and if my dcr will be too high, if this would be a good set-up ima get it. Also what size head gaskets to get to if it will work.

Will ANY of those cams will work W/O flycutting, I am also open to recommendations on other cams that WILL work with these heads.
Since the patriots are welded chambers to 59cc and they have been milled to 55cc, they haven lost much PTVC at all. You could run a larger cam than either of those and still have enough PTVC, although you do want to take compression into consideration.

If you want to use those heads you are going to have to step up to a much larger cam in order to being the DCR down a lot lower, even with something in the 234 range you will be over 9.0 DCR, way too high for 91 ocatne. I wouldnt even bother with those heads. You could get away with somehing like a Magic Stick with a stock head gasket, and if you flycut that will help bring DCR down too.

I dont understand what the big deal is with some of you guys and flycutting, if you want to run a tight setup then just do the flycutting. Flycutting is much easier than tearing a motor apart for a rebuild after your pistons crash into the valves.
