Default Whats the biggest cam for Pat. Per. LS6 55cc heads??

That I can use?? They have been milled to 55cc, I DO NOT WANT TO DO FLYCUTTING, will a 228R cam work on stock gaskets? Or will I have to go bigger??

Need more info than that.
Are they 6.0 "LS6 style", that were 59cc and then were milled like .025?

Or were they true 243 casting LS6 heads (64cc) milled 9cc or .045?

What valves are in there as well?

Either way, 55cc is a bitch for most cams. Can't fit a high duration, need flycut and small durations will run into DCR issues and would need very wide LSA

I was waiting for you to chime in on this! The heads have "6.0" stamped on them so I guess they are the LS6 "style", and from what I have heard the guy had the co. mill them down before they shipped them to a 55cc, he was running a TR224 cam with no issues, have no idea whick vlv's are in there yet they are either 2.02 or 2.055. I can pick the heads up pretty cheap and I dunno if I want that TR224 cam but WILL get it if it works and will get me about 420 WHP wit this set-up, but then again it may be too small for me but mabye the raised compression will help?? I guess I could always add a thicker head gasket???? What about the GM hot cam or ASA cam would those work?? Im going to bed Ill be back on here in 8 or so hrs...thanks again predator

you do not want to run a gasket thicker than .060
That will have adverse effect on fuel burn efficiency and make the combo more prawn to detonnation.
IMHO, skip those heads unless you are willing to flycut.

patriot uses welded chambers to acheive desired CC, they dont mill IIRC so PTVC still can stay good.

BINGO! although they do use slightly larger valves which should be taken into consideration (PTV)

Yeesss, but this is like ~ .025 mill with bigger valves.

sooo, "maybe a 228" could fit.

We do weld to get the desired chamber size on our LS6 style heads. But usually we don't do a 55cc chamber. We have talked to someone about these heads and we believe these are a set of 59cc heads that have been milled after they left our shop. If they are less than 3 years old, look for a 4 digit number stamped on the end of the heads (where your accessory bolt holes are) and we can look up the original invoice on these and what they were when they left here.

always clay test first. i have the same heads Ls6 "style" 59cc chambers, 2.02"/1,57" valves. i have a comp224/224 .581/.581 @112lsa in my car currently. soon i will be installing a TSP 231/237 .598/.595@112+2 lsa. i plan to clay test first to see if i need to flycut or not. don't let flycutting deter you from running a setup that you would like...

Can I flycut my self, what do I need, How much and where to get all the stuff? I'd be nive to just throw the heads and cam on w/o flycutting. What about Tsp's 225/225 cam??? No fly/cutting with that???

What about these heads with either (in the order I want/would go) a TSP 225/225 .595/.595 (mabye too much lift) a TR224 .563 OR a GM Hot Cam (last resort) all of these will be on a 112 LSA and the only gas I can get around here is 91 (just a FYI)!! Will ANY of those cams will work W/O flycutting, I am also open to recommendations on other cams that WILL work with these heads.

i just had to go back and flycut with heads milled .030 and the f-13 cam. i would think it would be best to flycut and just pick the cam you want.

But if you flycut your compression should lower.
