Default SCE Titan

Stay away from Titan SCE's the biggest waste of money in my life. I didn't even get to start the car. Added coolant and they leaked. The heads/block were clean, I even used cooper spray on the gaskets.
This is just a warning.

Your not the first person that I have heard this from. I heard from a reputable person that has built many motors that they "weap". From what I understood SCE was contacted and they validated that they "weap"...so guess who was out the remove and replace $$ plus the original $$....the consumer.

I am using Cometic....I have had zero problem with them...even up to 18#s boost.

I was also told they leak but it was to late for me. I already bought and opened the gaskets. I was hopping for the best .

I guess all these gaskets have issues. I've run the ICS's for 6 months or more and havent had a single problem.

What did you torque your ICS to? I am wondering if I didn't torque it enough.
The one I am using is an ICS Titan.

Yes, those are the same ones I'm using. I've got ARP 12 point studs that I torqued to 40, then 60, then 70 ft lbs final. I re-torqued the next day, backing off each nut all the way, retorqueing to 70ft lbs then moving on to the next one. I then heat cycled the engine and re-torqued again after about 8 hours. I watched the position of the socket by noting the where the size markings on it
were timed. I noticed the with each re-torqueing, I gained about 1/8 of a turn on ALL fasteners. The only leak I've had since I put these on was a pump to block gasket. The felpro 1041's I used the first time seeped and the heads warped but I didnt re-torque them at all. Felpro recomends two re-torques with those. As paranoid as I am now about re-torqueing, I'd retorque anything I used twice even though its definatly overkill.

I was not even able to start do to them leaking so badly. I took them off yesterday and it looks like when they are torqued down even to 95 which is insane, but I was desperate, the O-rings around the cylinders don't get compressed enough to let the rest of the head seal.

Not to bring this back from the dead but I have the same thing going on. I was so excited about my new heads combo and torqued them down in three steps up to 70 and sure enough just as stated above, they leak like a sieve just pouring the coolant back into the system. Don't think I'll get to start it up this week

Which gasket do you have? Is it the copper with wire and sealant around the water passages?

SCE does not have a wire insert only the rubber.

Are you referring to the ICS with the Combustion seal wire?

Copper gaskets will almost always weep water, it's the price you have to pay to run the low numbers at the track and the big numbers on the dyno.

Only reason to run a copper gasket is if you are o-ringed then it doesn't matter much since the water will not make it in to the combustion chamber.

I've ran coppers now and even re-used my Titans. Cleaned them up and used Indian Head sealant on them and havent had the slightest leak for several months. I beat the hell out of it ,daily driver.
