my little cam has gone 11.2 when it dynoed 424rwhp but I havent made a NA pass since my retune where I made 452rwhp so I would think a 11.0-10.9 would be real close to what it will run. I'm going to go with a bigger cam to get it deep into the 10's NA

Keep in mind, he said STREET car with bolt ons, which is exactly what mine was. I was putting the hurt on considerably higher rwhp cars and cars with "big" cams.

My friend had the vindicator in his stock shortblock 03 Z06 vette with trick flow heads and full bolt-ons and did 521 rwhp, and 464 rwtq. I have seen several cam only cars making 440ish rwhp, with an LS6 intake. Here is a link to one of them. https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamometer-results-comparisons/726581-vindicator-vs-02-cam-comparison.html Car did over 400 rwtq too.

Do you honestly believe that's an accurate dyno number for a heads/cam LS1 with stock cubes?

when i was starting to build my motor i wanted a good street motor with some serius punch, so i bougth heads FAst combo and a 226/226 patriot cam, because i thougt i would be tired of bigger cam in a street car,

but now i want bigger cam

A well matched combo will make more power than just the biggest cam.

wow! thats awesome, gives dude's like me a hope

I am not trying to follow the dailey flavor of ice cream but my f13 on a 112+4 pulls from start to finish. I had a 222/222-.566 cam on a 112 lsa and it had great tq but the f13 out done it everywhere.

Allan does design cams for power under the curve instead of top end pull dyno numbers. jmo

I had the TR224 for about a year and it was just too small for me.. made good power but not enough. So I got the vindicator.

A few years ago people would call BS on 450rwhp cars. Once the results became repeated enough, it became almost common. Now people often call BS on the 500rwhp cars.

Aftermarket companies have been studying these engines for a decent amount of time now, and the competition keeps pushing them to top one another. There have been a lot more than a couple of 500RWHP H/C cars and 450rwhp cam cars posted on this site alone lately. Unfortunately, it will probably be at least another year until people stop calling BS on them when they have something else to move onto.

That's because it's very obvious to everyone on all the other boards in the world that the inflated numbers are coming only from a couple of companies. Pretty strange, don't you think?

It actually doesn't surprise me that a combination with top flowing aftermarket cast heads (milled down as well), a big cam made to work with them, a port-matched 90/90, a top set of headers, and well chosen bolt-ons will make much more power than the more common ported LS6 heads (not milled), medium cams, LS6 intake, and bargain header combos.

Well then, sounds like you've decided to be a great customer. Just the kind of guy they want.
edit: I have to say it sounds like just what the G5X4 needed. I know it really wasn't on par with the Trex like it was hoped to be. So I guess Vengeance got it right.

Did I read somewhere the a cam like the Vindicator wouldn't be a good street cam because of where you need to be in your revs?

So no word? How the Vindicator would work as a street cam with stock heads using a LS6 intake?

I had comp grind me the same cam 224/228 .581/.588 110+0 and it is a great street cam..makes 375 ftlbs of tq at 3200 and pulls strong up to 6500..coupled with a very good set ot TEA heads the car drives good.. I have run much larger cams and went with this grind to make power under the curve..which is where I live on the street..lots of people getting caught up in the big cam hype and over cam their cars..I just took the 4.10s out and went back to 3.42 gears .. getting 21/27 MPG and making plenty of HP..my idle tells people that the car has a cam in it and it sounds good and gets compliments all the time...no drivability issues or surging to deal with.. I need to get it back on the dyno and see what its making with the 3.42s

That's all pretty, but how does it perform when it counts: racing. Other than that, it really doesn't matter. If you're not first, you're last.

If you will reread the post we are talking about a good cam for a street car application .. making good power under the curve .... this cam has been in for about two months now and nothing has shown me its tail lites yet..it makes its power where you use it not at 7000 rpm .. but I think that if I wanted to take it to the track it could hold its own .. but I gave up taking street cars to the track along time ago ..
