Default Cam options .. What to do?

I have a comp 224/224 .581/.581 114 in a M6. Its a great cam and i put down an impressive number but it just doesnt have that sound of a lower lsa and higher lift cam. I talked to a few shops and buddies of mine and many suggested going to a 1.8 ratio rocker which would increase my lift to .615. Do you think this would be worth the change or just swap out cams? I know it woud make a difference but i dont think i would get that choppy idle out of it. Also if i did go with the rockers how much of a gain do you really think i would get out of it? Thanks!!

If you want a choppyer idle I would change your cam. Yes if you change your rocker arm it will increas your lift but I dont think it will make your car sound any different. I think the last time I checked the rocker arms cost more than a new cam. Depending on the style lobs your cam has, some manufactures dont recomend the 1.8 style rocker arms. Not only that most aftermarket rocker will not fit under the stock valve covers, so you will have to change thows as well. And as far as the power increase of the 1.8 I would think It would be under 10 hp which is not worth it IMO.

Default Choppy Idle

Try a G5X3 or 4 or maybe something from Thunder or TSP. Nice and choppy. Talk to them, I'm sure they cam pick one out that fit's your needs. Change to better springs. Leave the 1.8 rocker alone.

And you might pick up an extra horse or two.

BTW, I like the choppy sound also. A little rocking at traffic light reminds me of the old days (350/350 SBC)

I have the MS4 in my M6 on a 110lsa, and the idle is sick as hell, I would change cams to something along the lines of the MS3, MS4, G5X3, G5X4, T-rex, or any other cam in the area of 23x/24x/6xx/6xx/ on a low lsa like 111 to 113. But due to the fast ramp rate of those cams you are going to have to put back in the 1.7 rockers. hope this helps out a bit.

I havent bought the other rockers yet i wanted to hear what you guys thought and im leaning towards not doing it. I am happy with my cam but i always wonder what if i changed it. My buddy has an ms3 in his SS and i beat him by a car length almost all the time (maybe his car just sucks haha) maybe ill just have to live with the cam i have making good power under the curve and sacrifice for that badass idle. It can onle get better with a set of heads, intake manifold, and a gear right
