LS1 piston deck height

LS1 piston deck height I am just curious what is the stock piston deck height above on a stock LS1 is?I think deck height is .004 but I could be wrong.

This is partly to account for the thermal expansion of the Aluminum block which is something previously not done by GM when the cast iron king ruled.

Alright,thanks studytime.I am aware how deck height is measured,but wasnt sure what the measurement was.So it would actually be .000 then for the measurement...I take it?The reason why I was asking is,I was using the virtual engine calculator.I input the bore,stroke,combustion chamber,gasket thickness,and piston deck height and came up with a compression ratio of 11.49:1.Last time I checked,stock compression ratio on an LS1 is 10.1:1

Not sure where that .004" number came from? Maybe here?
The deck height on a LS1 is 9.24".
There was a report of a .010" measurement for one LS1 that someone threw out for a STOCK motor. That would be the highest I've heard. It's also a little bit tricky at first to measure deck height with a bridge, so that might have been some of it. Most people get around the .006 or .007" out of the hole range.

Yeah,I am not sure of all the LS1 dimensions and measurements.I was not aware that the piston at TDC actually protrudes from the deck .006-.007.That was very helpful,it also allowed me to compute the compression ratio correctly.Thanks,good info on the block deck height and piston deck height.
