.239/.251 .570/.570 106lsa I was running this cam for a long time when I had my heads and headers before I blew the motor. It ran awsome. Now I have stock heads and exhuast manifolds. The car would barly run with that cam in it. I tried to tune it and had no luck, pulled it out and put stock cam back in. Has anyone else ran this kind of cam? What do yaw think about it?

what kind of power and times did you pull with that cam?

never made it to the track or dyno but from racing on the street I was keeping up with guys running 402s with cam and heads. My motor was as listed in sig. It pulled really hard all the way till about 6600rpm

FYI the grand am cup cam is was a 239/251, not a 238/245.

Anyways, I couldnt see it being any fun to tune with an A4. What was the idle set at?

A cam with that much overlap demands an extremely good flowing exhaust. It will not tolerate back pressure and this would cause serious reversion into the intake manifold and kill power. Long tube headers with high velocity merge collectors, 18" open header entensions or a well designed header-back exhaust are needed to extract the most power from this cam.

just get the Harrop ITB system.. and you can run that with minimal issues..

I've got this cam.

Specs -
LQ9 6.0L
Grand Am CAM
upgraded valvetrain - Ls6/Comp
fuel system upgrade - 70psi external
Injectors - 56lbs
SLP Equal lengths Headers
3in Y to a 3in XR1 12in Borla thats sits right after the Y
MSD SC
160d stat
all the other typical MODS

100-150shot of juice (never really needed it just made things funnier)

and an S-Trim Vortech in the back seat

Full Spherical Suspension

3.73 gears

conversions
4l65e HD 4400 Yank - Awesome converter
to
T56

LS1edit tuning - Turner (Me)

pulls less then 10 vac at idle
and boost 1 psi at WOT

i've had it idling at 800 with the stock A4 with no stalling
just wants to pull through the brakes.
