Default Driving without one rocker arm for 1 mile? ok?

I found out that one of my rocker arm bolts broke off. I was wondering if it would be ok to take out the rocker arm and the push rod and drive the car 1-2 miles to a local shop? Should I also disconnect the spark plug wire and wire to my injector for that cylinder? Whats the worst thing that could happen to the car?

If its the intake rocker arm itll run decent, just pull the pushrod/rocker. Unplug injector too

If its exhaust rocker, itll pop back through the intake but you could technically still drive it.

You wont hurt it

Unplug the injector and pull the rocker/pushrod, done.

Or stop being lazy and get some buddies to help push. I pushed my car home 3 miles myself once.

I dont see why it's worth the risk, if it's too far I'd call the local tow company and hand then a $20 bill to move it a few miles

Have a buddy pull it with a truck while you are steering it.

If its not running the brakes wont work very well so just go slow.

Risk? You guys are kidding right. Its a broken rocker bolt, not a huge risk.

You could drive it 1000 miles without the pushrod/injector/plugwire on and it would be fine.

i would push it or tow it. ive walked 20 miles in the snow so i would be able to push a car 1 mile to be safe.

Really? and what happens to the lifter that has no preload on it bouncing up and down freely. (assume it doesn't catch in the cup)
Man, please when you give advice, think before you spill the beans.

Kinda what I was thinkin.
change of thought is innevitable

Well then, since you brought it up, EXACTLY what will happen to that lifter that has NO pressure on it as it rides on a roller on the cam lobe inside a cup that keeps it alligned???? Its a freakin mile or 2, its not like he asked if he could drive it on a road trip.....

You tell me,

Guys, please quit this Gung Ho attitude; one simply doesn't run a 8 cyl motor on 7 cylinders on purpose.

Good advice is get help and tow or fix and drive.

I appologize if I came off with an attitude, all I'm saying is that it will not hurt anything to do it for a very short period. Is it good for an engine? No, but neither is N2O or drag racing but we still do it for very short periods. NASCAR engines lose cylinders all the time and still continue on to finish the race.... That is all.
