Default broken Rollmaster dualroller timing chain

Has anyone ever seen this before? I almost lost my 383 thats not even a year old. Changed the oil a few weeks ago and noticed two small pieces(almost looked like a small half washer) on the drain magnet Oil didn't really have many miles on it, but it was from last fall so I'm lucky I changed it and noticed the pieces. Matched them up to a chain at the machine shop and yep sure enough it was part of a timing chain. The 2 pieces are from the center links and they broke off the link right at the pins.

No damage occured from this yet thank god, but it's shitty to have to go back into the engine after getting it running last fall. I reused this chain from the heads/cam stock shortblock engine I bought the car with. It seemsed like a nice piece so I thought I was good to go. I can't see the chain set having over 10k miles on it. The chain is a JWIS chain with steel and blue colored links, two blue links are what broke.

I'm replacing the set with stock sprockets, Katech (JWIS) C5R chain, and the GMPP timing chain damper. I don't want to go back inside the engine till it really needs it so I went all out.

There were some issues about two years back with certain double rollers. Sorry, I dont have any more info. You might find more in the archives using search, or hopefully somebody remembers what I'm talking about and chimes in.

That first topic you posted looks exactly like mine did. I did search quite a bit, but never found that topic for some reason. I'll try to post up some pictures tonight or on the weekend. I guess I got lucky so I can change it, but that's no treat on a C5

I already have the Katech chain and stock sprokets in. I just got home and my GMPP chain damper showed up so I'm good to go for the weekend . About 3 bills lighter in the wallet with gaskets, etc.

Is this the PN for the LS2 timing chain? 12586482 does it include the cam and crank pulleys too?
