Default low oil pressure, possible causes??!?!?!

hey there,
I've just installed a cam on my car and a ported ls6 oil pump. I haven't changed the oil yet, been driving for like 200 miles.
it reads like quarter, the line just after the zero and before 40. I checked the oil level, and its was good. I am so pissed cuz I spent all my money for now on this
please help.....
Thanks,

Did you put the o-ring on the oil pump pick-up tube on straight? If it gets just a little crooked or pinched, it'll bleed of pressure at that point.

To me, all signs point to the o-ring on the pickup tube. That o-ring doesn't take lightly to any ill treatment. If the o-ring is ok, I'd suspect the pump but that's just me. Anyone else?

check your dipstick to see if you have any bubbles on it.
if there are , that would be a good indicator of a faulty oring.

i just finished from installing a new oring, i has having lifter bleed down issues and bubbles in the oil . it turnes out that i didn't put in an oring when i put the new pump in!
i have been driving for close to 6k miles on it and my pressure seemed fine ( it would drop when the motor got warm).

how many miles on your motor?

There's been a lot of this coming up lately. I see a few topics in here regarding this. I wonder is it possible for a faulty o-ring to make the engine act like it has a spun bearing? I.E. with the car rolling and in gear, the oil pressure initially goes down when you give it gas, goes up when you let off. My car's been doing this for about 2.5 years and hasn't changed. The engine doesn't knock, shake, or feel down on power. I'm on my 3rd oil pump and as far as I know, the o-ring has not been replaced. First 2 were stock, this one is ARE. Pumps do not come with the o-ring right? It's part of the pick up tube?

Ahmad, if I am not mistaken, you will need to remove the oil pan and pull out the pick-up tube from the oil pump to check the O-ring. Sorry to hear of your troubles! Please send me a sound clip or video of that cam once you get the oil pressure back up!

You dont have to drop the pan. I keep reading this and I have did it twice with out droping the pan. I have seen some post were other people have did it with out droping the pan. All you need is a little skill 2 pairs of pliars and a peice of wire.
OK. Cool. I guess you do not need to drop the pan.
I hope your car is going to be OK. Mine is fine, I got the hood pins installed, pics are on the Picture Trail site in my sig. The only thing "wrong" is it has started grinding 3rd gear sometimes so I think it needs a clutch/hydraulics upgrade .
Let me know when you get the video up .
