You should really be running dual springs with that cam. Who tuned it? Where did they set your timing & AFR? Did they do anything to compensate for the crappy '98 knock sensors?

Vengeance tried, but it's too rough to finish tuning, it would quit retarding timing for the stinkin knock and we didn't have time that day to find it. So Vengeance will get another crack at it as soon as i fix it.

Anyone else running a Torquer 2 with 918's???

I agree on the springs. Even if they're not at fault, that's not much spring for that cam.

Wow... yeah change those springs out... asap. I agree with the 98 knock sensors, we had that problem with a friends car.

knock sensors are good guys, they aren't throwing codes, is there a way i can test them?

I think you got the point that the springs aren't up to par for that cam. Missing and cutting out is bad. Check all your wiring, specifically around the heads. I've seen a number of these cars where the wires behind the heads fall on the head and get melted causing the same cutting out effect. If you question the knock sensors have vengeance (or whoever tunes it) desensitize the knock sensor and make some pulls with the car. If it's true knock the car won't make any more power but if you're getting false readings the car should make power and then you can figure out where the false knock is coming from.

they checked my knock sensors, they're good, okay, now what. i know i need springs it sounds like, maybe PRC Duals? Or 921's? And would the LS2 chain maybe move it a fraction and cause it to not be dot to dot, if so, would this caue issues, the only problem i have in believing it's mechanical is the fact that it ran for two days flawlessly, so i'm guessing wiring, who has an engine and coil harness for a 98? or any year for that matter, with apcm? Is this my best option?

Interesting... I also have a 98' formula M6 with a torquer v2 (112lsa) ls2 chain and comp 918 springs.. (full bolt ons) I plan on going to upgraded heads with better springs this fall.

I've also got false knock going on with this current set-up. In my case my A/F ratio looks good and even if we add fuel there is still false knock going on. I just assumed it was the crappy 98 knock sensors.

i ran 918s with the T2 and had about 4 that came out fucked. 2 of them literally broke when i took em off the heads.
