Default Login problems? Step inside --->

Here are list of common login problems, and suggestions on how to log on... But as a first step, I would try this:

-Clear Temporary Internet Files in IE, Click on Tools, Internet options, Delete Files button. Close IE and reopen it.

If the board is not keeping you logged in or giving you 'invalid password' you might need to clear your cookies.

-People log in using their display name, NOT their login name.
-Make sure they use the login name.
-People must a valid/working email address. I have gotten some emails back that have been bounced because of things not working.
-Passwords are case sensitive.
-When someone requests a forgotten passwords, they are suppose to enter in their username or email address associated with the account.
-Temporary password, Exactly what it says - Temporary. This will work until the person logs on with their original name and password.
-Once someone logs in with the temporary password, have them go to My Home, edit personal information and change their password.
-Have them clear Temporary Internet Files in IE, Click on Tools, Internet options, Delete Files button. Close IE and reopen it.
-If people send you an email with problems, tell them to include the original email in the response along with the exact error message that they are getting. If i get an email saying that someones account does not work, what is their password, what password did they use. So if they include the email that they got about that would be great.

No problem logging in, but I don't see any sponser ads anywhere. Not sure if you guys got rid of them or what, but nothing at the side or top.

Unreal, this is Tony (Admin) and I'm using your account to see what you should be seeing. Everything appears to be working perfectly as far as what is shown on the screen. This means that your browser must be blocking the sponsor banners. Some browsers have a setting that remove banner ads or pop-up windows. Check your computer browser configurations, the banner ads are there.

Thanks,
Admin

It's keeping me logged in...

I just pull up the site and then go into a thread and reply to them without logging in.

Hi Ryan.

The new 'ware is acting like the old 'ware for me... I don't think there is need for anyone to log on once they go into a forum, it automatically remembers us and logs us in.

This is pretty key I think.

Also try redoing your cookies. I have been experimenting with stuff and clearing those tmp files might be a step to do first.

Hmm. Must be Opera. I'll try with IE. That or its nortons firewall. Its got automatic ad blocking.

Edit:
Just checked, its norton firewall blocking the ads. Turned it off and they popped right up. Good thing to know if anyone else is having trouble seeing them.

Sup John.

Anyway, I never have to log in, it does it for me...just not on the main page. Step one: www.ls1tech.com. I'm not logged in. Step two: clink Internal Engine or Drag Racing or whatever. I'm logged in. Weird huh?

If you click on "View Forums" at the top of the page, it will show you the list of forums and you will also be logged in. Thats the first link I click when I visit the site, otherwise I can't see the Admin section at the bottom.

mex - you will be automatically logged in if you click "View Forums" right when you get here. Or, if you enter a forum. Nobody is logged in when they simply type in LS1TECH.com

Siggy, you need to change your settings in the My Home section. Look for "Display Preferences" at the bottom and select EDIT.

Then change the two numbers in the selection boxes:

Total parent posts to show per page: (default is 50)

and

Total posts to show on one page when viewing a post in flat mode (default is 25)

Then hit SUBMIT at the bottom of that screen.
