Just picked mine up here off a moderator! Can't wait to get it. Can I ask if there would be any ill effects from going WOT with such a small lift cam? I will be driving it for a bit untuned until I buy HpTuners...

I'm shocked that this cam isn't more popular with the LS6 crowd since you wouldn't have to mess with springs/lifters/retainers, etc. The only issue sounds like tuning, but seems pretty straight forward besides that.

No issues, the only thing is the abrupt stops because it might bog and shut off. Ohh and if you run your A/C at a stop light it might shut off too. Other than than I ran my Hotcam(not ASA but same lift and its a 112 lobe) untuned and at WOT for about 2 months untill I saved for a TUNE!
GoodLUck! you'll like it!

I think the ASA really shines with the ported LS6 heads in which is was designed to be used with. As for .600 lift on stock heads, you really need to start reading a little about CFD and how restrictive heads and intakes will affect airflow with and oversized cam like that. I think we would all be pretty suprised at the kind of numbers a "small" cam could make with properly matched heads and intake. Afterall, who else is trapping at 123+ MPH? Not saying the ASA/LS6 combo is the best but it is great for road racing and making power under that 6400 RPM number, plus its a no brainer for those (including myself) who are not experts in matching complete engine airflow.

I got mine tuned over the weekend, and it took care of the surging / bogging issues. No issues running the AC / heater on full blast unless you are trying to run them while you are starting the car up. Jbird was also 100% correct, my timing is set to 28* and has no knock issues (thanks for that little tidbit, it saved a lot of time). I hope to get some dyno numbers next month, but its not too bad for an 'untuneable' race only cam.

Glad it worked out for you! Good luck with all your new found power!

How bad would my tune be with this cam, I also do not want to do springs on a daily driver.

I wouldn't have a problem daily driving mine. Check some of the other ASA cam threads, one of the perks of this cam is that it is very easy on springs.

SDPC had the lowest price for this cam new.

2000 m6......also fuel pump was going shotty, all fuel stuff had 100k miles on it

either way the duty cycle was at 110 % by 5000 rpms, put in a racetronix kit, some 42 lb injectors and want to spray it but have heard no talk about anybody else doing it through this cam before

The GMPP LS6 heads were designed to work in conjunction with the ASA cam. Not saying the others wont perform, but like I said, the GMPP LS6 were made to match up with the ASA and its low lift.
With that said, the GMPP heads are $$$$ so maybe a TSP package might meet your goals and save you money.

Ill be getting some 243 patriot stage II's very soon with like a 62cc for a little more quench. That ASA is on a 110 so you might want to make sure your PTV clearances are OK!

I wonder if it would work well in a l92 crate motor with l76 intake? What rear wheel #'s you think I could expect in a m6 w/ 3.90 12 bolt?

thanks guys, what do you guys run in the 1/4 mile? as you can see in my sig my et isn't that good, specially my mph. I was thinking maybe cause of the elevation or the crappy track.

With only .525" lift from the ASA, you wouldn't even be coming close to taking advantage of the L92's flow potential. A cam with .600"+ valve lift would be better suited IMO.
