Unhappy Why does my car suck? MS3+slug.

Im running LT Pacesetters, LM exhaust, lid, lower control arms, DR's, MS3 cam, dual VS', !AiR, 4.10's. Nothing too incredibley special, but should be plenty enough for low 12's, right? The best I can do(thus far) has been a 12.9! My best MPH has been 110, however my best 60ft has only been a 2.1. Still, shouldnt this car be performing alot better?
The car isnt tuned and hasnt been on a dyno, but surely it isnt THAT big of a factor. Any ideas, or suggestions.
By the way, I know my clutch slips if I try and launch above 2K RPM, is it possible that it is slippin on lower RPM launches and I just dont know?

You need tuning in the worst way. First off, the A/F ratio could be way off, hurting your power. Secondly, you'll want a much higher rev limiter. Unless you're shifting at 6800 rpm, you're probably leaving ET and mph on the table. The MS3 lives in the upper revs.

You NEED to get a tune. That car is probably running like crap. Consider yourself lucky that you havnt damaged anything else by running the **** out of an un-tuned car at the track.

Get yourself a good clutch, tune and leave the line like you mean it . The 2.1 60ft is supposed to be 1.7ish or better, powershifts is were its at also. Now you have to understand the more brutal you run the car the more brutal you will be on the parts to get the ET and MPH. I would leave at 4000RPM or higher and powershift my way on down the 1320

Sorry guys, I left some info out. It is not tuned per se, but it is what I call "adjusted". The rev limiter is set at 7K. I shift about 6800. I have a wideband 02 and it maintains high 12's low 13's under WOT. So I would dare say everything is 'safe' but not optimal for sure.

Get a new clutch and a real tune, i bet you'll knock close to a full second off once youre tuned and you can start launch at 4k without the clutch slipping

Aside from saying where in texas you are and the DA, you answered your own question as to why it's a slug.

Don't expect a good time if you can't get off the line better than a 2.1. You could easily run a 12.4-12.5 with a decent 60ft as it sits right now
Get a tune
Get a clutch.

So aside from the stuff you pretty much told us was hurting your times, where are you racing? DA matters a LOT

You gotta work on the 60' time my buddies running a 98 A4 Z28 with LT's, catted Y, catbakc a lid and is pulling 60 foot times just as good if not better than yours (street tires). The only difference is his car is pulling those times with a bad rear that I have personally seen spin one wheel a few times. The rule is every tenth you take off you 60' is 2 tenths at the end of the track. With drags and 4.10’s I think you should easily be able to dip into some high 1.xxx 60’s

Ennis(Tx Motorplex). Ive never had a car with such a high rpm cam, so it is not easy for me to launch it at 4K. Im used to running cams that you can come off at 2K and do great! I finally MADE myself launch it! The one time I did try 4K it slipped thru 2 gears. Pretty counterproductive.... I guess that is the trick. What is the formula for 60ft to ET? Like every .1 in 60ft is equal to .2 in ET? That would make sense.

Its weird. I have launched cars at Ennis with street tires to a 1.85 off idle, but I guess this thing just wont cut the 60fts without high RPM.

Some say .1 in the 60ft is .2 in the 1/4, but you aren't likely to see that played out. I can guarantee that every tenth in the 60ft is at least a tenth in the 1/4 though Just finish the car, which would mean the clutch and a real tune, then bring down the 60ft, and you will be running tons better by the end of the 1/4

I have to agree with eveyone else, clutch and tune. I am trapping the same speed in my car and I have the stock cam. With some tunning you should be able to trap higher MPH, thus leading to quicker ET's.

I always use the formula that every .1 in the 60ft equates to .15 off your et. Example would be knock off .2 from your 60ft, and you'll run a total of .3 faster down the 1320. In my experience this has held true everytime, and its usually a bit conservative at that.

Oh, about your cars performance. Get a new clutch and a dyno tune. Then you'll be ready to see the real potential.
